We’re excited to introduce Christopher Manser, who has recently joined both Infocomm and our sister company Discover who provides MSP Services, as our Business Development Manager. With his unique background spanning finance, technology, and business development, Chris brings a fresh perspective to connecting businesses with the right solutions for their operational challenges.

A Journey Through Technology and Business
Chris’s career path reads like a masterclass in adaptability and continuous learning. Starting in business studies and moving through roles in finance and foreign exchange, he discovered his passion for technology when he transitioned into highly technical roles including mainframe programming and Unix administration. What’s remarkable about Chris is his ability to dive deep into new technologies and quickly master complex technical environments.
His journey through the IT landscape continued as a business analyst at a mining company, then into professional services management, before finding his calling in sales. “The thing that’s the same all the way through is it’s about people,” Chris explains. “It’s about finding out what their problem is and connecting them with the right people who can solve it.”
From IT Services to Logistics Software
Chris’s background in IT services makes him perfectly positioned to understand both sides of our business. His experience providing developers, business analysts, and technical consultants at various IT companies gives him deep insight into technology solutions. This technical foundation is invaluable when working with Infocomm’s tailored software solutions for the transport and logistics industry.
But what truly sets Chris apart is his approach to business development. Rather than pushing products, he focusses on understanding problems first. “I need to know enough to qualify the lead and ask enough questions to know that they’re a good fit, but then get someone who specialises in that area to cement the capability,” he says.
A Partnership-Driven Approach to Solving Business Problems
This philosophy aligns perfectly with our values at both Infocomm and Discover. Chris’s approach is refreshingly honest โ if he can’t identify a genuine problem that either company can solve, he simply moves on. “We’re not here to sell just to sell,” he notes. “We’re here to get the right outcome for our client. If we can be part of the journey, great. But if we don’t think we’re a fit, we’ll point that out and recommend them to the right place.”
Rather than the “sell, sell, sell at all costs” mentality that many businesses encounter, Chris operates on the principle that not every prospect should become a client. His technical background means he can speak the language of IT whilst focussing on business outcomes, and his experience across industries – from mining to charity events to convention centres, gives him the versatility to understand diverse business challenges whilst maintaining that consultative, partnership-first approach.
What Makes Chris Different
Chris’s varied career path might seem unconventional, but there’s a clear thread running through it all: his ability to connect people with solutions. Whether he was facilitating money market transactions, organising charity auction items, or selling 2D and 3D animation services, Chris has always been about understanding needs and making the right connections.
“I don’t have to know everything about the technical details,” Chris explains. “But I know lots of really smart people who do. It’s about getting the right person introduced to the right solution.”
Looking Forward
As Chris settles into his dual role across Infocomm and Discover, he’s already making an impact. Recent client meetings have reinforced what we’ve always believed: that family-owned, partnership-focussed businesses resonate strongly with other family-owned operations in the logistics and professional services sectors. “What strikes me is it’s Louie’s story as well,” Chris observed after recent client meetings. “Family-owned and operated was a big thing with the logistics companies we met. They loved hearing about the partnership approach and the long-term relationships.”
We’re thrilled to have Chris on board across both Discover and Infocomm, knowing his technical background and consultative approach perfectly complement our shared values of putting client outcomes first. For businesses looking to solve their operational challenges – whether that’s outdated logistics software limiting growth or IT headaches preventing focus on core business activities – Chris represents a new approach.
He’s not there to sell you something you don’t need; he’s there to understand your challenges and connect you with the right expertise to solve them.
