In today’s fast paced logistics landscape, businesses face mounting pressure to modernise their operations whilst maintaining the reliability their customers expect. The challenge isn’t just finding the right technology, it’s finding a team that understands both the technical complexities and real world demands of transport and warehousing operations.
At Infocomm, we’ve built our reputation on delivering tailored software solutions that solve these exact challenges, and leading our development efforts is David Pizzari, whose 25 year journey brings both technical expertise and practical insight to every project.

Graduate Developer to Technical Leader
David’s distinguished career began with a degree in computer and mathematical science. After working his way up through various senior development and technical leadership roles, he made a defining choice about his career direction.
“I’ve always been a programmer,” David explains. “I tried project management but decided that I really like the tech stuff, so I went back into the technical stream.” This decision to stay close to what he studied whilst taking on leadership responsibilities has shaped his unique management style and deep understanding of what it takes to deliver great transport software and warehouse management system solutions.
David discovered Infocomm whilst browsing job boards late one evening. “I wasn’t really looking for a job, but I saved the ad and kept coming back to it. I thought, ‘that sounds really interesting, maybe I’ll put my hat in the ring.'” The initial conversation with managing director Louie proved transformative, leading to his two and a half plus years journey at Infocomm.

Hands On Leadership That Delivers Results
What sets David apart as a software development manager is his hands on approach to leadership. “I still like to get on the tools, so I still like to get down and dirty and do modifications and fixes as well,” he says. Managing a medium sized team of developers, David has cultivated “a really collaborative and supportive environment where everyone feels heard and valued.”
This approach has proven effective in Infocomm’s complex project environment, where we create tailored transport management solutions that meet each client’s unique operational requirements. “The people here are fantastic. It’s a great culture, and I really like the people I work with,” David reflects.
The SeaRoad Success: Transport Software in Action
When asked about the most exciting project his team has tackled, David immediately points to our collaboration with SeaRoad, the logistics company operating between Tasmania and the mainland. “They were facing a few complex challenges and were ready for the right vendor with the right solution to partner with them on their transformational journey”, David explains.
The complexity arose from SeaRoad’s unique requirements. “Our software has an abundance of features, but they still needed additional functions just to cater for what they do on a day-to-day basis.” What made this project particularly rewarding was the collaborative spirit. “Everyone pulled together really well, not just the development team, but the greater Infocomm team.”
The result speaks for itself: SeaRoad now runs their operations on our platform and love it so much that case studies and videos showcasing the partnership were created. “They are a valued pro-active partner moving forward for sure,” David notes with evident pride.

Transformation Through Client Partnership
David’s approach to maintaining quality and fostering innovation operates on two levels. From a technical perspective, it’s about “staying up to date with the latest trends, whether that’s subscribing to certain newsletters, attending short courses or researching new technology.” But feature development requires something different.
“It’s more about collaboration with the clients and coming up with a bucket list of the next 10 to 20 things that they want,” David explains. “That’s done hand in hand with the clients and some of our business analysts.” This client centric approach ensures every enhancement serves real operational needs.
This methodology has proven valuable in guiding complex projects, particularly when clients were eager to ask for changes before fully exploring our softwareโs capabilities. “By working in partnership, we were able to align on the best approach and deliver a successful outcome for both the client and Infocomm” David says.
Looking Forward: Next Generation Solutions
David’s vision for the next 12 months reflects our commitment to accessible innovation. “We are investing in a next-generation platform that brings a fresh UI and UX experience to our clients. This new approach not only enhances usability but also incorporates the latest innovations, ensuring our clients stay ahead in productivity and performance.” he explains.
For aspiring software development managers, David’s advice is practical: “Maintain your technical edge by staying informed about evolving trends and emerging technologies. But also learn some of the people management skills, such as conflict resolution, communication, both verbal and written. And don’t be afraid to make some tough decisions.”
